For golf lovers, this game is one very interesting game. Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online is an online streaming version of the Tiger Woods franchise.
Players may take part in single player modes or in tournaments. Tournaments are split into weekly and daily competitions, and are sometimes based on events currently happening in the PGA Tour.
Players can choose between monthly and yearly subscriptions with unlimited access, or choose to pay for individual rounds through microtransactions. Players who don't subscribe are still allowed to compete, although they are usually allowed to play only one or two rounds each day. Each day a player logs in, on their first login they receive 10 micro-transaction points and they receive 5 micro-transaction points for completing the first round of the day. The so-called free courses have a very low greens fee; 5 points as of this writing, although in the past, these "free" courses have had greens fees of 10 points. Since the game is updated every week or two, these greens fees may be increased to 10 points each in the future.
To get started playing all you need to do is go to the Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online Web site, sign up for an account, and you'll be good to go after a quick setup process (the browser-based game works on both Macs and Windows machines). At least initially, you can only do a very limited amount of customization to your avatar (one of the game's shortcomings right now), but once you get out on the course, the graphics are pretty decent and the game plays smoothly--and quickly. You can move from hole to hole in a few minutes and play a round in around half an hour (at least at the beginner levels). A running IM feed on the left side of the screen allows you to interact with other players, talk trash, or just give a running commentary of how well--or badly--you're playing
